Hell froze over and lightening struck twice!!!
A few weeks ago, I talked about my
trip up to the great state of Ohio to see the Ohio State Buckeyes lose against Illinois. I was certain the loss meant the end of the Bucks' shot at the national title. There were just way too many great teams that had to lose, and even though this has been the weirdest season in college football that I can recall, there was just no way the Bucks were going to get into the big game.
I was wrong! And I've never been happier!
With two improbable losses by the #1 and #2 teams in the country this weekend, Ohio State and the LSU Tigers will play for the BCS National Championship right here in my backyard at the Louisiana Superdome.
I'm still debating whether or not to sell my car. It's the only way I can afford a ticket to the game.
Go Bucks!

The not-so-saintly New Orleans Saints
Last year around this time I was flying high as my beloved New Orleans Saints enjoyed a
dream season . Expectations were extremely high this year, and I just knew the Saints were going to live up to them.
Umm...yeah. Not so much.
As a person who eats, sleeps, and dreams football, my pain on Sunday afternoons has become physical. There is an ache in my belly every time Olindo Mare attempts a field goal. All I can ask is "Where's John Carney?" Deuce McAllister is out for the season, leaving most of the running back duties to Reggie Bush. Drew Brees just doesn't seem to have the same fire in his eyes (or his arm) as he had last year. The entire team lacks drive. It's so depressing.
The one bright spot in all of this is that the entire NFC South has been struggling so far this season, so there is still hope for the Saints!
Actually, another bright spot has been college football. The LSU Tigers are at the top of their game and the top of the NCAA sports world, and the Ohio State Buckeyes, whose starting lineup features a star player who is near and dear to me, has been steadily climbing in the polls. Thoughts of a LSU/OSU Championship Game this January in the Louisiana Superdome is starting to dance in around in my head.
Football is still fun!

Back to Reality
Big. Dramatic. Sigh.
For the past couple of weeks, I've been in this euphoric daze; living in a world sprinkled with black and gold pixie dust. But, yesterday, the mean ol' Chicago Bears stepped in with their awesome defense and blew all the pixie dust away. That's just not cool, Bears!
The New Orleans Saints have taken us fans on a wild and wonderful ride, but now it's back to reality.
As I look over my way too long to-do list, it seems as though I should have stepped back onto the reality train a few days ago. My, how quickly things pile up. How was I supposed to know life doesn't stop for football?
So, here I am, back to working on the synopsis, which still sucks, but is, thankfully, almost completed. I've promised my agent that he would have the book by the end of the week, so I definitely need to get this baby done. Once again, I'm trying every promo trick within my power to get the Farrah Rochon name out there to the masses. Worst of all, I'm being expected to do actual work at my day job (how dare they!), so it's onto those duties, as well.
All is not lost on the football front, though. New Orleans still has a stake in this year's big game as hometown boy, Peyton Manning, plays in his first Super Bowl! Go Peyton!
And to the Saints, thank you!
