The Holiday Inn...In stores today!

First of all, I'm not really here. I'm probably riding the Rockin' Rollercoaster, Expedition Everest, or one of my other favorite Disney rides at Walt Disney World. But I had to post for this very special day!

It's Release Day!!!!

Even though some people received their copies days ago from Amazon, today everyone can run out and buy their copy of THE HOLIDAY INN where they can read my story, "A Change of Heart".

Happy Reading!

When it's in your blood

It's true. For some people, writing is just in your blood. I recently discovered that I'm one of those people.

You see, over the past few weeks, I've had one huge obstacle after another. First, there was the killer deadline that I blogged about on the Reader's Room (formerly Blogging In Black). Then, there was Hurricane Gustav (also mentioned in the previous blog). Next, there was that life-altering move to another city.

With all those things going on, I decided to give myself a break from writing. I was not going to think about any of my current works-in-progress or the story ideas floating around in my head. Not until Wednesday, October 1st. That's the day I return from my annual trek to the happiest place on Earth where the big mouse lives.

I should have known better than to try to give myself time off from writing. How can I stop doing something that is just...well...in my blood. I cannot not think of the tons of stories I'm waiting to write. Even when I try, they continue to call me.

So, what did I do today? I said to heck with my writing vacation, took out my trusty notepad and started sketching out my next novel. After all, it's what writers do.

I know there are a lot of writers out there who read my blog who know exactly what I'm talking about. How about the rest of you? Do you have a life's passion that's just in your blood?

Coming to you from Deep in the Heart of Texas!

After several months (okay, years, and years, and years) of debating whether or not to leave my small hometown, I took a big leap of faith and moved to the great state of Texas!

So, this die hard Louisiana girl will now report to you from her new home of Austin, Texas. Although I've always had my heart set on New York City, a knock in the head by the reality fairy reminded me that I could not afford to live in the Big Apple. Several people mentioned that Austin had a great cultural vibe, so I decided to give the city whose motto is "Keep Austin Weird" a try!

Similar to what my critique partner, Shauna Roberts did when she relocated to Riverside, CA, I'd like to take you all along on the journey as I explore my new home.

Expect to see more as I learn all about Austin!

My "Life is Stranger than Fiction" Week

Boy, did I have one of those weeks! An unbelievable deadline, a hurricane, a flat tire, and more! You can read all about it today at Blogging in Black.
